I’m doing a project on the civil war for Mr. Bogush’s class. It’s our big ‘end-of-the-year’ project that’s suppose to be our legacy here on 8-2(my team). We have to pick a thesis on anything about the civil war, write a 6 paragraph essay explaining why our thesis is/should be correct, then make a creative presentation.

I chose art in the time of the Civil War. I thought it’d be a pretty normal topic, I thought I’d be able to get information easy. I was way wrong… It turns out there is almost no information on it and every website concerning Civil War art is a gallery or an online shop to buy paintings. So I’m sort of caught up, I don’t know if I’ll get in trouble if most of my project is just opinion because it’s an original thesis, but it is too late to change subjects seeing as we only have a few more days to do this project.

But I should definitely work on it right now, thanks for reading! Bye.

So I haven’t really been on edublogs for some time now… I’ve been trying to think about some ideas I could maybe put a post up about, but I haven’t had too much luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

What do I think of when I think of a “real” hero? I think of someone brave.. That type of person that puts others before himself. Someone who takes the risk to help you out, maybe loaning you some money when you’re in need or something along those lines. A person who isn’t foolish or easily bossed around, but isn’t so assertive that they’re considered “mean”. Not that popular person that’s a big superstar and is pretending to be such a great person just so they can make a great salary; they’re not a hero, well not a REAL hero at least. My “real” hero is that everyday average joe that does the average things and makes the average salary, but is completely fine with his life. A person that cares and isn’t ignorant. Not the person that tries to look for people in distress to “help” them and to get well liked, but the person that just happens to walk by at the time to see someone needing help and helps them. My hero isn’t the person who stands around and watches as someone gets away with a crime, but the brave fellow who breaks off from the crowd to try to stop the criminal. My hero is the person that doesn’t always HAVE to win, but the person that always tries their best no matter what the case. A person that doesn’t want everything to themselves, but is wanting to share what they have. An inspirer, someone who pushes you to do your best even when you think it’s a lost cause.

My hero is my dad. Believe it or not, he fills almost all of my description. He cares for my family more than he cares for his own self. When I look at my dad I almost feel ashamed at what he has risked for me, what he’s done for me and what he gave up for me. When I get to be a father, my goal is to be as devoted to my child as he is to me.

Thanks

Horse’s View

They might leave me to die

If I may become weak

The treacherous journey

It seems to never end

Hauling and hauling

Load after load

Worked to the bone

Sometimes I need a break

On I walk…

It makes not a difference

Whether I’m tired, beaten and sore

Miles go by

Tears are shed

I; we know

The physical torture

Endured on this “Trail of Tears”

We walk because of the whites

Because they wanted our land to themselves

We were kicked out

if you’d like to see the picture that when along with it, here’s the link. When you see a slide show, go to the fourth slide… My poem is based on the horse’s thoughts

Color.. What do you feel about color? Colors are everywhere, even if you’re colorblind or legally blind.. excusing the absolutely blind factor.. People have different opinions about different colors, people say the names of colors in different ways, they might spell it a different way (ex. in a different language or culture).

I love all sorts of colors.

blue, red and purple.

Those are my favorite colors. What are yours? What do those colors mean to you? …Maybe they’re the colors of your favorite sports team, or the sports team you play for; maybe it was your parents favorite color. Maybe you just saw a color and thought it was exotic and crazy.

I think America should stay the same. Right now we’re a republic-democracy in my opinion. If America was more democratic there’d be fight break outs and dissagreement and more law-breakers. I certainly don’t think it should be less democratic, that wouldn’t be good for anybody.

Think about it… In a pure democracy the majority rules. What happens to the minority of the vote? They won’t agree on what was agreed upon. Some people might do stupid things because they think it’ll make a difference and/or change the law or whatever.

If America was less democratic, that’d be terrible. The normal people wouldn’t get a say in anything and every decision would be decided by the higher up people. The normal people would most likely get upset with that because people like to feel like they have power; Everyone does…

It would technically be a pure democracy. If the electoral college were abolished the people would have all the decisions and there would really be no way of any corruption going on. Because of the electoral college there is always the chance that a voted-in-voter might vote on his choice and not the ‘majority’s” choice.

Although there wouldn’t be as much political corruption, its possible that someone’s friend might try to influence their vote which could affect the outcome of who gets elected into that station of power.

Voting requirements? I don’t think there should be voting requirements. What happens when you put on a requirement for something? People take advantage of that and lie about something to fit the requirements just so they can say they did something… If there aren’t any requirements on something only the people that really want to do it, will. Its kind of like reverse psychology, if you try to tell your child not to turn around it’ll make them want to turn around so much more even though they know nothing is behind them. People want to control themselves, So if you’re telling people that they can’t vote unless they’re 18, some kids might try to get a fake ID so they can vote, even though voting doesn’t matter to them at all.

That’s what I think anyway, tell me if I’m wrong. Thanks for reading.

Well, I’ve thought about this question for quite a while and that could be why I haven’t put this post up yet… but, here’s my conclusion about the “most dangerous” question.

There is no specific question that could cause anyone and everyone emotional/mental pain. There are way too many questions to possibly ask that could offend anyone. A question as simple as “why?” could be in impossibly confusing question for, let’s say a 4 year old that just came up with what he/she thought was the greatest idea ever; they might not have a reason why they want to do something.

Specifically to myself, the most dangerous question someone could ask me is, “Why should I trust you?”, or something along those lines. I’m big about trust and I wouldn’t try to betray that. I can’t really give a reason why you should trust me, but I get offended if someone can’t trust me; only if I do trust them…

Democracy:

–noun, plural -cies.

4. political or social equality; democratic spirit.

To me, democracy should be a fair government. Supposedly, America is a democracy. Democracy is to be fair, let the people decide what goes on. Majority should rule.
